Player of the season so far is Thomas Vermaelen!!!

Its a tough call between 3 players. Vermaelen for being a rock at the back whilst scoring goals. Fabregas for having a hand in almost every goal, so many assist's this season I think he set up Merida from the bench! And finally RVP for stepping up after becoming the main hitman and scoring the baulk of the goals that every team needs from there no1 striker. Always a doubt with whether he was another Bergkamp, an awesome talent with modest goal tally. My player of the season would have to be Cesc though. Influentional to both the abve mentioned and scoring again.
    Keep it up Cesc!

Song is the one who has taken on the mantle of DMF without the assistance of Deneilson, which enabled AW to concentrate on attack. The 4 3 3 (or 4,3 2,1)can now work well, with Nasri and Rosicky each side of Song. This allows the full backs to make more runs on the wings, giving more options to Nasri and Rosicky, and with better crosses from the FBs at the end of the runs. This will allow the front 2 Arshavin and Cesc to either run at defences or pass around them to Robin. This could only happen with the defensive cover that Song brings to the show. In the last few games he has carried the ball more and becoming the main distributer. He is not as good as Viera was at 22 but not much short of it either. But he is the MAIN difference this season.

Song may have improved, but he is presently on four yellow cards and 1 more is a suspension. If he misses the chelsea game we may be in trouble for that game. One we MUST win.

Cesc, no question. Then Van Persie, Vermaelen, Arshavin and Song in that order.

Most disappointing player? Almunia, Clichy or Diaby, although all three could be very good.

Three who will have a big role to play in the remainder of the season: Nasri, Rosicky and Walcott.

vermaelen has had the most impact on the team. Arshavin, Song and Cesc have all been in great form (cesc had a few bad games, looking distracted). RVP is doing weel at the link up play , but has still not scored from a free kick for nearly 3 years. He has been playing well though. Only position we need to strengthen is the keeper. None of the three really give confidence. If we strengthened here, we would have a great spine that everyone talks about

This is a tough call, but for me it has to Vermaelen just because this guy has hit the ground running, he's taken no-time at all to adjust to the Arsenal style of play, and has formed a fantastic partnership with WG. Vermaelen also brings to the team much needed leadership and defensive organization, and has chipped-in with 5 goals. For me he has to be the signing of the season. As for Cesc, and RVP, both seem to be benefiting from the 4 3 3 formation, and both (on current form) could be up for player of the year nominations. Cant imagine how good this group of players could be, if we can stay injury free.
